DESCRIPTION:Rush Springs Watermelon Festival\n\nOn the second Saturday of August\, more than 20\,000 visitors take Rush Springs\, Okla.\, by storm for one of Oklahoma's most popular festivals. In celebration of the local crop of watermelons\, watermelon-themed activities\, carnival rides and family-friendly activities are intertwined throughout the day.\n\n\n\nThe Rush Springs Watermelon festival\, held continuously since 1948\, celebrates the fields of black diamond\, royal sweet and other varieties of watermelon with a seed-spitting contest\, an arts and craft fair\, live entertainment\, stage shows\, watermelon exhibits and more.\n\n\n\nAttend the Rush Springs Watermelon Festival on Thursday and Friday evenings for the annual Rush Springs Rodeo. Grab a seat in the stands and enjoy action-packed rodeo events and a calf scramble at nearby Rusty Acres Arena.
