DESCRIPTION:Cowboy Up!\nHead over to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center on Saturday\, July 27th\, from 10:00am to 5:00pm\, to celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy! There will be activities for all to enjoy like special performances by cowboy singers\, authors and poets\, a variety of kid's games\, showcased exhibits and more! Kids' activities will include face painting\, horse shoe tosses\, laser shooting\, pin the horn on the longhorn\, there's a snake in my boot\, storytelling and an art contest!\n\n\n\nThis year's theme will be the "Black Cowboy: Tall Tale or Top Hand"\, focusing on the accomplishments of African American cowboys from the Chisholm Trail era to today. There will be guest appearances by 8-time world champion tie-down roper\, Fred Whitfield\, and Wallace Moore\, a professional reinactor and author of "Ebony Horse Soldiers"! There will also be a special photography exhibit by Ron Tarver featuring "The Long Ride Home: The African American Cowboy Experience in America".\n\n\n\nThis event is free and open to the public\, so be sure to bring the whole family out for a fun-filled day of celebrating the life and times of the national cowboy - past and present!
